Imagine the clothing store of the future. You enter, a 3D scanner analyzes your body, you chose the materials, cut and colors of your dress from a monitor, and the garment is printed in mere moments, modulated according to your shape and desires.
Fantasy? Not for long it seems. The construction process of "Project DNA", created in the lab by fashion designer Catherine Wales, anticipates the future, with the only difference that for now the printing machinery of today is too slow and only a few materials can be worked. The project is on display at Arnhem Mode Biennale in the Netherlands until July 27th 2013 and in July at Design Museum in London.
