Landscape Photography – Rocky Creek

I've been searching for some running water to shoot for almost six months now with very little luck. The drought we've seen in the Texas Hill Country for the past several years shows little sign of letting up and my Singh-Ray Vari-ND neutral density filter sits idle in my camera bag. Subjects like this beautiful rocky creek are impatiently waiting for some rain to add motion and excitement to their currently dull existence.

Shot taken with a Canon EOS 50D set on aperture priority (Av) using an EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM tripod-mounted. The exposure was taken at 10mm, f/11 for 1/90th of a second at ISO 100 on Lexar Professional digital film. Post capture processing was done in Lightroom 2 and Adobe Photoshop CS4 using Nik Software's Dfine, Sharpener Pro and Color Efex Pro filters. Click on the image above for a larger version.
